Before your knee replacement this Thursday at Liverpool Hospital, I need to go through some important pre-surgery checks with you, if that's alright with you today.

That's understandable. You'll have a spinal anaesthetic combined with light sedation, so you won't feel any pain or discomfort during the operation.

Yes, you'll need to stop taking the aspirin five days before your surgery date, unless your cardiologist specifically advises you otherwise.
