Beyond Blue
নামটি ইংরেজিতেই "Beyond Blue" বলা উচিত, কারণ এটি একটি নির্দিষ্ট সংস্থার নাম যার কোনো বাংলা প্রতিশব্দ নেই।
প্রার্থীরা একে সাধারণভাবে "মানসিক স্বাস্থ্য কেন্দ্র" বলে অনুবাদ করে ফেলে, যাতে নির্দিষ্ট প্রতিষ্ঠানের নামটি হারিয়ে যায় এবং তথ্য স্থানান্তরে নির্ভুলতা কমে।
Palliative care
পরীক্ষায় 'প্যালিয়েটিভ কেয়ার' শব্দটি ইংরেজি উচ্চারণেই বলা ভালো, সঙ্গে সংক্ষেপে ব্যাখ্যা দেওয়া যেতে পারে 'মরণাপন্ন রোগীর যন্ত্রণা উপশমের সেবা'। বাংলায় কোনো একক প্রতিষ্ঠিত প্রতিশব্দ নেই, তাই ব্যাখ্যাসহ বলাই নিরাপদ।
অনেকে একে সরাসরি 'প্রাথমিক চিকিৎসা' বা 'সাধারণ চিকিৎসা সেবা' বলে ফেলেন, যাতে 'রোগ সারানো নয়, শুধু কষ্ট কমানো' এবং 'মরণাপন্ন অবস্থা'—এই মূল অর্থটাই হারিয়ে যায়, ফলে নম্বর কাটা যায়।
Counselling sessions
'কাউন্সেলিং সেশন' বলে transliteration করাই ভালো, কারণ এটি একটি নির্দিষ্ট পেশাদার সেবার নাম।
একে 'পরামর্শ সভা' বা 'উপদেশ দেওয়ার বৈঠক' বলে অনুবাদ করলে এর পেশাদার, চিকিৎসাগত (থেরাপিউটিক) দিকটি হারিয়ে যায়, এবং শ্রোতা মনে করতে পারে এটি সাধারণ পরামর্শ মাত্র।
My Aged Care
এটিকে প্রপার নাউন হিসেবে ইংরেজিতেই রাখা উচিত — 'My Aged Care' বলা উচিত, প্রয়োজনে সংক্ষেপে বলা যায় এটি 'বয়স্কদের সেবা সংক্রান্ত সরকারি পরিষেবা'।
অনেকে এটিকে সাধারণভাবে 'বয়স্কদের যত্ন' বা 'ওল্ড এজ হোম' বলে অনুবাদ করেন, যা এই নির্দিষ্ট সরকারি প্রবেশদ্বার/পরিষেবার নামটিকে হারিয়ে দেয়।
Police check
এটিকে "পুলিশ ক্লিয়ারেন্স" বা "পুলিশ যাচাই সনদ" বলা উচিত।
অনেকে এটিকে "পুলিশ তদন্ত" বলে অনুবাদ করেন, যা ভুল ধারণা দেয় — police check কোনো অপরাধ তদন্ত নয়, বরং রেকর্ড যাচাইয়ের একটি প্রশাসনিক প্রক্রিয়া।
Respite
'রেসপাইট কেয়ার' বলা যেতে পারে ইংরেজি শব্দ ব্যবহার করে, সাথে সংক্ষিপ্ত ব্যাখ্যা 'সাময়িক বিশ্রাম সেবা' যুক্ত করা যায়।
অনেকে এটিকে সরাসরি 'ছুটি' বা 'বিশ্রাম' বলে অনুবাদ করেন, যা এই নির্দিষ্ট প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক সেবার অর্থ হারিয়ে ফেলে।
Home care package
"home care package" ইংরেজি শব্দটি রাখাই ভালো, বাংলায় ব্যাখ্যা করতে হলে বলা যায় "বাড়িতে বয়স্কদের যত্ন সহায়তা প্যাকেজ (home care package)"।
অনেকে একে "নার্সিং হোম" বলে ভুল বোঝেন, কিন্তু এটি বাড়িতে থাকা ব্যক্তির জন্য সহায়তা, প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক আবাসন নয় — এই ভুল অনুবাদে মূল অর্থ পুরোপুরি পাল্টে যায়।
TIS National
"TIS National" নামটি ইংরেজিতেই বলতে হবে, কারণ এটি একটি নির্দিষ্ট সরকারি সেবার নাম; প্রয়োজনে "জাতীয় দোভাষী সেবা" বলে সংক্ষেপে ব্যাখ্যা করা যায়।
অনেকে এটিকে সাধারণ ব্যক্তিগত "অনুবাদ কোম্পানি" বলে ভুল বোঝে, যা এর সরকারি ও বিনামূল্যের প্রকৃতি হারিয়ে দেয় এবং তথ্য বিকৃত করে।
Aged care assessment

অনেকে এটিকে সাধারণ "স্বাস্থ্য পরীক্ষা" বা "মেডিকেল চেকআপ" বলে অনুবাদ করেন, যা ভুল কারণ এটি চিকিৎসা পরীক্ষা নয়, বরং সেবার প্রয়োজনীয়তা ও উপযুক্ততা নির্ধারণের প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক প্রক্রিয়া।
ACAT
সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ "ACAT" ইংরেজিতেই বলা উচিত, কারণ এটি একটি নির্দিষ্ট প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক নাম। প্রয়োজনে যোগ করুন "বয়স্কদের সেবার প্রয়োজন যাচাইকারী দল"।
অনেকে এটিকে সাধারণভাবে "নার্সিং হোম কমিটি" বা "হাসপাতালের বোর্ড" বলে অনুবাদ করেন, যা ভুল কারণ ACAT চিকিৎসা প্রদান করে না, শুধু প্রয়োজন যাচাই করে।
Interpreter service
'ইন্টারপ্রেটার সার্ভিস' বলা যায়, প্রয়োজনে 'দোভাষী সেবা' বলে সংক্ষেপে ব্যাখ্যা করা যায়।
অনেকে এটিকে 'অনুবাদক' (translator) বলে ফেলেন, যা লিখিত অনুবাদ বোঝায়, কিন্তু interpreter মুখে মুখে ভাষান্তর করে—এই পার্থক্যটি হারিয়ে গেলে নম্বর কাটা যায়।
NDIS
"NDIS" নামটি ইংরেজিতেই বলা উচিত, কারণ এটি একটি নির্দিষ্ট সরকারি প্রকল্পের নাম; প্রয়োজনে "প্রতিবন্ধী সহায়তা প্রকল্প" বলে সংক্ষেপে ব্যাখ্যা করা যায়।
এটিকে সাধারণ "প্রতিবন্ধী ভাতা" বা নগদ পেনশনের সঙ্গে গুলিয়ে ফেলা ভুল, কারণ NDIS সরাসরি নগদ ভাতা নয় বরং সেবা ও সহায়তা কেনার জন্য অর্থায়ন প্রকল্প।
Working with Children Check
বাংলায় এর সরাসরি প্রতিশব্দ নেই, তাই ইংরেজি নামটি রেখে সংক্ষেপে ব্যাখ্যা করা ভালো — যেমন 'ওয়ার্কিং উইথ চিলড্রেন চেক', অর্থাৎ শিশুদের সঙ্গে কাজ করার জন্য বাধ্যতামূলক পুলিশ-সম্পর্কিত অনুমতিপত্র বা যাচাইকরণ সনদ।
অনেক পরীক্ষার্থী এটিকে শুধু 'পুলিশ ক্লিয়ারেন্স' বা সাধারণ 'পুলিশ চেক' বলে অনুবাদ করেন, যা ভুল কারণ এটি একটি ভিন্ন ও বিশেষায়িত সনদ যা শুধু শিশুদের সঙ্গে কাজের জন্য নির্দিষ্ট; এই পার্থক্য না বোঝালে তথ্য হস্তান্তরের নম্বর কাটা যায়।
