Unfair Dismissal: Fair Work Commission Assistance
Employment Support Officer (speaking English) and 客户 (speaking Finnish) talk through “Unfair Dismissal: Fair Work Commission Assistance”. You interpret both ways — English into Finnish, and Finnish into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Thanks for coming in today. Can you tell me specifically what happened when your employer ended your job at the Dandenong warehouse last week?
Minut irtisanottiin viime torstaina ilman mitään ennakkovaroitusta. Olen työskennellyt logistiikkayrityksessä Dandenongissa jo kolme vuotta.
Did they give you a written termination letter, and did they clearly mention any reason such as misconduct, poor performance, or redundancy?
Ei, en saanut mitään kirjallista irtisanomisilmoitusta. Esimies vain sanoi suullisesti, että suoritukseni ei ollut riittävä, vaikka viimeisimmät arvioinnit olivat hyviä.
If you believe the dismissal was very harsh, unjust, or unreasonable, you can lodge a claim with the Fair Work Commission in Melbourne.
Ymmärrän. Kuinka nopeasti minun pitäisi jättää valitus, jos haluan riitauttaa irtisanomisen?
You must lodge your unfair dismissal application within 21 days of the dismissal date, so please don't miss that important deadline.
Selvä, kiitos. Tarvitsenko asianajajan hakemuksen tekemiseen, vai voinko hoitaa sen itse?
You don't need a lawyer to apply, though you may want some advice before the conciliation conference, especially regarding your entitlements and possible compensation.
Hyvä tietää. Mistä ja miten voin jättää hakemuksen, jos teen sen itse ilman asianajajaa?
You can submit the online form through the Fair Work Commission website, and our office can also help you complete it, free of charge.
Kiitos paljon avusta. Teen sen tänään verkossa ja otan yhteyttä, jos tarvitsen lisäapua.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- fair workSano 'Fair Work' erisnimenä, tarvittaessa lisää 'työelämän valvontaviranomainen'.
- fair work commissionSano nimi englanniksi 'Fair Work Commission', tarvittaessa lisää lyhyt selitys 'työsuhderiitoja käsittelevä viranomainen'.
- unfair dismissalSano 'perusteeton irtisanominen' tai 'epäoikeudenmukainen irtisanominen'.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Finnish dialogues · All languages
