Root Canal Referral at the Dentist
Dentist (speaking English) and Patient (speaking Romanian) talk through “Root Canal Referral at the Dentist”. You interpret both ways — English into Romanian, and Romanian into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Mrs Ionescu, I've reviewed your X-ray and there's a visible infection near the root of your lower left molar, which is likely causing your pain.
This means you'll likely need a root canal, so I'm referring you to an endodontist. If it's left untreated, the infection could spread into your jaw.
Înțeleg... dar cât costă tratamentul acesta? Mă întrebam dacă Medicare acoperă și lucrările dentare.
Unfortunately Medicare doesn't cover general dental treatment, so you'll need to check your private health extras cover before the appointment.
I can book you in for Thursday at two-thirty at Wollongong Dental Specialists, the procedure usually takes about forty-five minutes.
You'll have a local anaesthetic, so you shouldn't feel pain, though there may be some soreness afterwards. I'll prescribe antibiotics if there's swelling beforehand.
Am înțeles, mulțumesc. Ce trebuie să evit după operație? Pot să mănânc normal a doua zi?
Avoid hard or chewy foods for about a week, rinse with warm salt water three times a day, and please don't smoke during recovery.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Romanian dialogues · All languages
