Mr. Sokolov, thanks for coming in today. Can you tell me more about how your vision has been affecting your daily activities, like driving or reading?
Доктор, у меня всё расплывается перед глазами, особенно вечером. Вокруг фонарей появляются такие ореолы, и мне стало трудно водить машину, особенно в тёмное время суток.
The clouding you're describing in both eyes is consistent with cataracts. I'd recommend surgery, and we can refer you to Ballarat Base Hospital for an assessment.
Понятно... А сколько придётся ждать очереди на операцию? И это будет дорого стоить, если у меня нет частной страховки?
The waiting list is currently around ten weeks for the public system. The surgery itself is covered by Medicare, unless you choose a private ophthalmologist instead.
А сама операция болезненная? И сколько времени она занимает? Мне немного страшно, если честно.
It's day surgery under local anaesthetic, so you'll be awake the whole time but won't feel any pain. Each eye takes about twenty minutes.

You can't drive yourself home afterwards, so please arrange a lift with family or a friend. We'll do the second eye about four weeks later.

You'll have a follow-up appointment one week after surgery. If you notice redness, pain or reduced vision before then, go straight to emergency.

CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
