Thanks for coming in today. I’d like to discuss reconstructive surgery after your mastectomy and explain how the public hospital waiting list currently works, so you understand your options.

Currently, the public waiting list at Liverpool Hospital is around eight months, unless your case is classified as clinically urgent.

A private surgeon could operate sooner, but Medicare only covers part of the cost, and private health insurance would need to fund the remaining balance.
