Joining the Union at the Meatworks
Union Organiser (speaking English) and Meatworks Worker (speaking Macedonian) talk through “Joining the Union at the Meatworks”. You interpret both ways — English into Macedonian, and Macedonian into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Hi Zoran, thanks for staying back after your shift today. I wanted to have a quick chat about joining the union here at the Bendigo meatworks, if that's alright.
It's completely optional, Zoran. Membership costs about twelve dollars a fortnight, deducted straight from your pay, but only if you decide to join us.
The union can represent you in wage disputes, safety issues, and unfair dismissal cases, including support through the Fair Work Commission whenever it's needed.
Unfortunately, if you're not a member, the union can't formally represent you in a dispute, though we're still happy to offer general advice.
Great, you can fill out the online form right now, or use a paper one instead, it only takes about five minutes.
Yes, you can resign anytime just by giving notice, there's no lock-in period and no penalty at all for leaving.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.

Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Macedonian dialogues · All languages
