Depression Consultation and Referral to Headspace
GP (speaking English) and 病人 (speaking Malay) talk through “Depression Consultation and Referral to Headspace”. You interpret both ways — English into Malay, and Malay into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

Full transcript
Mr Karim, thanks for coming in today. Before we start the referral, can you tell me how you've been feeling over the past few weeks?
Saya rasa sangat sedih dan tak bertenaga, doktor. Saya susah nak tidur, dan setiap pagi rasa sangat berat nak bangun dari katil.
I'm sorry to hear that, Mr Karim. Have you had any thoughts of harming yourself, or feeling like life isn't worth living lately?
Tak ada, doktor, saya tak pernah fikir nak cederakan diri sendiri. Tapi saya rasa terlalu penat, dan langsung tak boleh fokus semasa kerja.
That's good to hear, and I'm glad you told me. I'd like to refer you to Headspace Bankstown, where a counsellor can support you regularly.
Headspace Bankstown tu jauh ke dari sini, doktor? Berapa lama nak sampai, dan kena bayar ke untuk pergi ke sana?
It's only about fifteen minutes' drive from here, on Rickard Road. If you bring your Medicare card, the session won't cost anything.
Baguslah, dekat rupanya, dan tak payah bayar pun. Bila saya boleh jumpa kaunselor tu buat kali pertama, doktor?
They can see you next Thursday morning at ten o'clock. If things feel worse before then, please call Lifeline any time, day or night.
Baik, saya faham, doktor. Tapi saya perlu makan ubat sekarang ke, atau boleh tunggu dulu sementara counselling berjalan?
Not yet — let's see how the counselling sessions go first. If your mood doesn't improve within about a month, we'll discuss medication options then.
Baiklah, doktor. Terima kasih banyak-banyak atas bantuan ni, saya akan pergi jumpa kaunselor di Headspace Bankstown hari Khamis nanti.
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- medicareKekalkan sebagai 'Medicare' tanpa terjemahan kerana ia nama khas skim kerajaan.
- medicare cardKekalkan sebagai 'kad Medicare'.
- lifelineKekalkan sebagai 'Lifeline' kerana ia nama khas organisasi.
- counselling sessionsTerjemah sebagai 'sesi kaunseling'.
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.
