Thanks for coming to the lunchroom today. I'm from the United Workers Union — I heard you've been asking about membership. What would you like to know?
Mulțumesc că ați venit. Am auzit despre sindicat, dar mi-e teamă că, dacă mă înscriu, șeful ar putea să mă dea afară. E adevărat că se poate întâmpla asta?
It's actually illegal for your employer to dismiss or discriminate against you for joining a union — the Fair Work Ombudsman protects that right.
Bine, mă liniștește să aud asta. Dar cât costă abonamentul lunar? Nu vreau să mi se rețină prea mult din salariu, pentru că am și alte cheltuieli.
Membership costs around nine dollars twenty a week, taken straight from your pay if you choose payroll deduction, or you can pay quarterly instead.

As long as you're employed here — casual, part-time or permanent — you're eligible to join. There's no minimum number of hours required.
