Duty Solicitor Interview: Drug Supply Charge
Duty Solicitor (speaking English) and Client (speaking Hindi) talk through “Duty Solicitor Interview: Drug Supply Charge”. You interpret both ways — English into Hindi, and Hindi into English — one segment at a time, exactly as in the CCL test.

I'm the duty solicitor from Legal Aid NSW. You've been charged with supplying a prohibited drug under the Drug Misuse and Trafficking Act.
मुझे नहीं पता था कि बैग में ड्रग्स हैं, वह मेरे दोस्त का बैग था।
Can you tell me exactly what happened when police stopped you, and whether you said anything to them at the time of arrest?
पुलिस ने मुझे रोका और तलाशी ली, मैंने कहा कि मुझे कुछ नहीं पता, लेकिन उन्होंने मुझे गिरफ्तार कर लिया।
Your bail conditions require you to report to police weekly and not contact the co-accused person; if you breach this condition, you could be remanded in custody.
अगर मैं हर हफ्ते पुलिस स्टेशन नहीं जा पाया तो क्या होगा? मेरी नौकरी दूर है।
If you plead guilty, the court may consider a lighter penalty during sentencing, but if you plead not guilty, we will need to prepare fully for a hearing.
अगर मैं दोषी मान लूं तो सजा कम होगी क्या? मुझे डर लग रहा है।
Your next hearing is listed at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday at 9:30 am, so please arrive at least 30 minutes early.
ठीक है, मैं गुरुवार को साढ़े नौ बजे पारामाटा कोर्ट पहुँच जाऊँगा।
Legal Aid NSW will provide a qualified interpreter at every hearing; without one present, you don't have to answer any questions.
धन्यवाद, मुझे राहत मिली कि हर सुनवाई में दुभाषिया रहेगा।
Terms in this dialogue that cost marks
CCL is marked on information transferred. These Australian terms have no direct word in most test languages — get one wrong and the segment's information is gone.
- legal aidइसे 'लीगल एड' कहें (अंग्रेज़ी शब्द ज्यों का त्यों उच्चारण करें), साथ में ज़रूरत पड़े तो 'मुफ़्त कानूनी सहायता सेवा' जोड़ सकते हैं।
- local court'लोकल कोर्ट' कहें या 'स्थानीय अदालत' के रूप में अनुवाद करें, दोनों स्वीकार्य हैं।
Practise it
Reading a transcript is not interpreting. The free daily dialogue on this site plays each segment at native speed, records you, and marks the information you transferred against the same categories examiners use — omissions, distortions, insertions — so you know where the marks went.

How the test works
Practice dialogue written to the CCL specification (two speakers, segments of 35 words or fewer, about 300 words). It is a practice text, not a NAATI test paper, and the AI score is this site's estimate, not a NAATI result. All Hindi dialogues · All languages
